I was a pawn. Weak and someone easily manipulated. To be played with as he saw fit. Until YOU. YOU shone light in my now dark world. It was YOU who made me smile. For the first time in this game, I had hope. All because of YOU. The more powerful pieces on the board, however, were a threat to YOU and me. They would win at any cost. Two kings ruling with an iron fist. Allies or opponents, it was hard to tell. YOU promised to save me. Told me we would win. But then I was on the wrong side of the board. This isn't YOU, baby. And I don't know what to do. The game is almost over and I'm counting on YOU. Tick, tock... Warning: This Isn’t You, Baby is a dark romance. Strong sexual themes, excessive drug use, and violence, which could trigger emotional distress, are found in this story. If you are sensitive to dark themes, then this story is not for YOU. This story will make YOU smile. This story will make YOU angry. This story will make YOU crazy. I hope YOU love it, baby.

What, WHAT did I just read!?

Wow. Flabbergasted is putting it mildly. This Isn't You, Baby, is the 4th installment of the War & Peace series. Typically by this point, I'm sick of a series. It's usually the same stuff happening from different point of views. K. Web has kept this series fresh with each book, while staying with the story-line.

I gobbled TIYB up like I was taking my last breath. There were parts of this book that made me feel like I was going to die, until I knew what was going on. K. Webster gives you just enough to make you think you know whats going to happen and then BAM! She takes it away and throws a wrench in your thoughts. This is Brie's book. This is what happens when your babygirl is left without biological parents. If Gabe really thought she'd be better off; we'll he's got another thing coming.

You absolutely have to read this series in order. Jumping in in the middle will only confuse you. I cannot tell you enough how much my opinion on the characters changed with this book.

WARNING: This book is dark-psychologically dark, deliciously twisted. You absolutely must read with caution. Some triggers are veiled and others are in your face. This Isn't You, Baby, gutted me, it left me sick over it.

Characters: 5

God, I love K. Webster's books. This one has got to be the hardest to review. Read the warning, my dark friends. I read dark books 95% of the time, and she managed to make me shake with irrational behavior. I felt unease and discomfort. This is fiction, yet I had this knot in my throat, it's been hours and it's still there.

Brie's story is hard to swallow. Plain and simple. If you've read the entire series, you are probably prepared. If you haven't read the entire series, do not pass go, do not collect $200.00. I feel highly invested in every single character. They've come alive throughout the series. Ren is that caring, loving, self-sacrificing hero, but not without faults. I love how the author pinches my cheeks with honesty, she shows all the fractures within humanity. Nothing or no one is safe from the villains that lurk in plain sight. Just when you think you're safe, the light is switched off and your alone in the dark.

I ate this book, I choked on every word, but I couldn't stop myself. Not an easy read, but if you love the darkside... You are going to drool over this one. My chest is tight. You know what they say, right? If it doesn't make you feel, it's not worth reading. I'm all out of feels for a bit, I need to cuddle up with ice cream and send a message to the author
